This ensemble once belonged to Ron Davis, g

    South Pole Station in
    1963.
Ron even had an Antarctica geographical feature named for him:
    The
    Davis Nunataks
    (
    85°37′S
    166°36′E
) are a small cluster of rock
    nunataks
3 nautical miles (6 km) northwest of
    Mount Ward
, the feature being a southern outlier of the main body of the
    Dominion Range
. The group was named by the
    Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names
    for
    Ronald N. Davis
    , a
    United States Antarctic Research Program
    geomagnetist-seismologist at
    South Pole Station
    , winter 1963.
