Antique Mauser Sterling Dish Set for Desserts;
Up for sale is the sterling reticulated dish set with the Mauser Unicorn
hallmark
for fruits, desserts, soft candies or nuts, dated late 19
th
or early 20
th
century.
The dish set has 6 dishes together with 6 pickers. All the dishes have a calligraphy monogram “N” at the center, whereas all are marked to the bottom with “Sterling”, “925/1000 Fine”, “302” and the Unicorn hallmark. The pickers with different designs at the heads of the handles are all marked with “Sterling” on one side and “7c” on the other side of the blade.
Mauser Manufacturing Co., NY (1887 -1903) was a good sterling silver maker who was merged into Mt. Vernon Silversmiths in 1903.
Measures: Weight, totally, 4.8 ounces (136 grams); Dimensions, Dishes, 3 1/8” moth diameter x 1 ½” base diameter x ¾” high; Pickers, lengths vary from 3” to 3 3/8”
Condition: excellent and clean, with no damages or repairs.
