    Bernard Villemot
was a French graphic artist who produced innovative advertising campaigns for companies like Orangina, Perrier, and Air France. Villemot is considered one of the preeminent poster artists of the Art Deco period. With his use of simple forms, sophisticated color, and elegant figures, his work was ubiquitous in both French magazines and street advertising. Villemot paid close attention to design, maintaining a compositional simplicity, embellishing them with vibrant colors evocative of

’s cut-outs. Born on September 20, 1911 in Trouville-sur-Mer, France, he studied under
    Paul Colin
in Paris. In 1963 he was the subject of a solo exhibition at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris. The artist died in 1989 in France.
