History of Piece:  This was a cherished piece from the silver collection of Zula Gaddis Carrington (1888-1971) and John B Carrington (1870-1934), as per the monogram "ZGC".  This couple has historical significance to the state of Texas and city of San Antonio. In 1909, John Carrington spearheaded the "Order of the Alamo".  This early organization is very relevant to Texas history and the preservation of Texas traditions.  This order is a crucial reason that San Antonio celebrates "FIESTA" each year with a multi-day party highlighting historical events.  Christie's appraisal expert disclosed that they expected this to sell at their auction for between 00 and 00.
