CLOTH NORAH WELLINGS JOLLYBOY SAILOR DOLL.
He is all original.
We
understand
that this R.M.S. Queen Elizabeth souvenir Sailor doll is harder to find.
These dolls were sold as souvenirs on British ships through much of the 20th century. This nice vintage 8 inch doll was a souvenir of a voyage on the R.M.S (Royal Mail Ship) Queen Elizabeth in the late 1940's. Although launched in 1938 the ship was almost immediately pressed into service as a troop carrier, like her sister ship the R.M.S. Queen Mary and did not begin the service for which she was built, carrying paying passengers until late in 1946 after World War 2 had ended. This doll is in
VERY GOOD
played with condition with no repairs. He is made of blue velveteen cloth. He has a
stockinet
face with painted feathers and side-glancing eyes. The original tag sewn on one foot says, Made in England by Norah Wellings.
